Great Oaks Hospice Summer Fayre raises £3,400 for vital services

GREAT Oaks Hospice’s annual Summer Fayre was a huge success, and raised around £3,400 to help support the hospice’s vital services.

Held on Sunday, August 9, the day proved a hit with guests and organisers alike. One of the highlights of the day was the welcome return of the much-loved Teddy Bear Ladies from BBC's The Repair Shop, who spent the afternoon chatting with visitors, sharing stories, and posing for photographs.

Attendees enjoyed browsing a fantastic range of stalls and taking part in fun activities, including the popular Human Fruit Machine, Splat the Rat, and Play Your Cards Right.

Great Oaks Hospice thanked everyone who helped organise, support and attend the event.

A Great Oaks Hospice Spokesperson said: "We couldn't do what we do without the support of our wonderful community. Thank you to everyone who helped make the Summer Fayre such a fantastic success."

Alongside the stalls, visitors were also treated to wonderful live entertainment from rock choir Forest Treblemakers, and Magic Martin, whose magic tricks and interactive performances delighted audiences throughout the afternoon and helped create a lively and enjoyable atmosphere.

The event provided a fun-filled day for people of all ages and brought the community together in support of a great cause.

What’s more, guests learned some exciting news, as the Teddy Bear Ladies kindly agreed to return for next year's Summer Fayre. Their visit once again proved incredibly popular.

Organisers said funds raised from the Summer Fayre will help Great Oaks Hospice continue providing compassionate care and support, free of charge, to more than 1,000 people and their families each year throughout our community.
