GLOUCESTERSHIRE’S Premium Bonds data has been revealed in new research revealing the number of winners per county.

The study used NS&I data to rank every UK county by the number of high-value winners (prizes £1,000+) for every 100,000 residents across the last 12 monthly draws.

Gloucestershire ranked 12th in a list of 47, with 4,458 winners, which is 457 winners per 100,000 residents.

Gabriele Asaro, Head of Research at Bitz.io, said: "The number of rural counties at the top suggests these areas hold more bond value per head, which points to wealth distribution as much as anything else."

Dorset topped the list, returning 4,717 high-value winners, or 590 for every 100,000 residents.
