GLOUCESTERSHIRE County Council has celebrated over a year of its commissioned Youth Hubs, delivered in partnership with three not‑for‑profit organisations working across the county.
The services form the Gloucestershire Commissioned Youth Service, a coordinated network that offers early help, prevention, and positive opportunities for people aged 11 to 25.
The Gloucestershire Commissioned Youth Service launched in October 2024 to ensure young people feel safe, supported, and able to thrive within local communities. Over the past year, the three organisations of Gloucestershire Gateway Trust, The Children’s Society and Family Action, have created vibrant and welcoming youth spaces across the county.
Gloucestershire Gateway Trust supports young people in the Forest of Dean and Gloucester, The Children’s Society supports young people in Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Whaddon, St Paul’s, The Moors, and Bishop’s Cleeve, while Family Action supports young people in Stroud and Cirencester.
Cllr Ben Evans, cabinet member for Children’s Safeguarding and Care said: “Our Youth Hubs are places where young people feel safe, connected, and empowered.
"We are incredibly proud of the opportunities created so far, and excited about what comes next.”
Since opening, the Youth Hubs welcomed over 14,000 visits from young people, supporting them with mental health services, education and learning new skills. Youth Hubs are inclusive spaces where young people can build confidence, make connections and get support
Hubs offers specialist youth support groups for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, they can also provide holiday activities during the spring, summer and winter holidays with activities including sports, art and outdoor learning.
The council said Youth Hubs will continue to expand their offer in 2026, with new programmes, more targeted support, training for young people and staff, and more opportunities to enable young people to shape services in their area.
