CINDERFORD stalwart Graham Morgan has been sworn in as Gloucestershire County Council's new chairman. becoming the first born-and-bred Forester to do so in nearly 20 years.
Coun Morgan, who comes from six generations of freeminers although is the first of his family not to work in the coal pits, has served on the Forest of Dean District Council for two decades; as well as being a long-serving member of Cinderford Town Council.
He was voted in unanimously at a full County Council meeting last Wednesday, after stepping down as chairman of the town council.
And on election day earlier this month, he was the landslide winner; garnering over 1,000 votes in both district and town council elections.
