FOREST of Dean Police have praised the successes of crime-stopping over the last few weeks.

A 53-year-old man from Mitcheldean was issued with a five-year restraining order for harassment, a 43-year-old man from Drybrook was arrested on suspicion of theft and handling stolen goods, and a 38-year-old man from Cinderford was arrested for shoplifting.

In addition, a 37-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman from Newent were arrested on suspicion of allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control, while a 40-year-old man and 33 year-old female from Lydney were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting.

A police spokesperson said: “We’d like to thank the public for continuing to report suspicious activity, it makes a real difference.”

The man from Drybook is on police bail and the stolen power tools were returned to their rightful owners. The man from Cinderford was charged and is due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates Court in May. The Lydney pair are currently in police custody while enquiries continue.
