THE Forest of Dean is among the top five “instagramable” running locations in the UK during spring, according to a recent survey.

Research from sportswear brand New Balance has found that the Forest ranks fourth among the most popular picturesque parks and forests in which to run in the country. 

The list was determined by the overall number of hashtag uses by runners on Instagram. There were 309,744 uses of #forestofdean.

A total of 135 UK locations which advertise running trails were included in the survey.

The Forest is the only place in the top seven outside of Greater London, and was beaten only by Hampstead Heath, Richmond Park and Regent’s Park, which took top spot.
