MEMBERS and alumni of the Forest of Dean Labour Party got together in December to raise money for charity at their annual Christmas party.

The group gathered at Amigos in Lydney for what they described as an "excellent" meal and party, during which they also managed to raise more than £100 for the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity.

Members and ex-members took part in a raffle to raise the funds before they were serenaded by local band Greenwich Village, who entertained party-goers with a "mixture of numbers which many sang along to".

And last week, party Vice Chair Mel Farrant handed over a cheque for a total of £106 to Great Western Air Ambulance Charity representative Ian Cantoni at the Lydney bar and restaurant.

The presentation was attended by Clive Shaw and Steve Stockham of Greenwich Village, Amigos owner Veysey and barman Harry, and party members Mel and Angela Farrant, Caroline Moor and Sue and Roger Holmes.
