UNEMPLOYMENT is falling, but local man Mike Grindle insists the jobs situation here in the Forest remains far from rosy.

Mike lost his job at The Range earlier this year and has struggled to find work since.

He said: "It's not very good here. I've not had any proper work since August and neither have my former colleagues.

"I've been applying for jobs but I think due to my age I'm up against it.

"If you live in the Forest, you need to either go to Gloucester or Cheltenham.
