Ruardean Stores applies for licence to sell alcohol and tobacco
Ruardean Stores has submitted an application to Forest of Dean District Council to license its premises on School Road, Ruardean, Gloucestershire (GL17 9XQ) for the sale of alcohol and tobacco, alongside everyday groceries, frozen foods, and household goods.
The application, submitted under the Licensing Act 2003, is currently open for public inspection. A full copy can be viewed by contacting the council’s Licensing Section, while a summary is available online at www.fdean.gov.uk.
Members of the public are invited to submit written representations between 7 August and 4 September 2025. Comments must relate specifically to one or more of the four licensing objectives: prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, prevention of public nuisance, and protection of children from harm.

Hanley Lane, Tidenham to close
Gloucestershire County Council will temporarily close part of Hanley Lane (Tidenham Parish) from its junction with Boughspring Lane to the A48 at Woolaston Grange, for approximately 125 metres. The closure is scheduled from 1 to 3 September 2025 for Severn Trent Water works. Access for pedestrians and emergency services will be maintained. A signed diversion will be in place.
