THE music of Johnny Cash will come to Lydney next year when the Johnny Cash Roadshow takes to the Town Hall stage.

The long-running tribute show will visit Lydney Town Hall on Saturday, February 6, 2027, with the performance getting under way at 7.30pm.

Fronting the production is award-winning performer Clive John, who has built a reputation for recreating the voice, stage presence and distinctive style of the legendary American country singer.

He will be joined by Ashley Cavell as June Carter, alongside a live band performing some of the best-known songs from Cash's career.

The show will feature classics including Folsom Prison Blues, Cocaine Blues, Walk the Line, Daddy Sang Bass and Ring of Fire, as well as Cash's celebrated version of Hurt.

Audiences can also expect duets associated with Cash and Carter, including Jackson, while this year's production will explore the music of The Highwaymen, the country supergroup featuring Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson.

Songs including Highwayman, Silver Stallion and Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys are set to form part of the programme.

The latest version of the Roadshow will also take audiences into Cash's famous prison era, with a Folsom Prison-style stage designed to recreate the atmosphere of his performances behind bars.

Cash recorded his landmark live album At Folsom Prison at the California jail in 1968, producing one of the defining recordings of his career.

The Johnny Cash Roadshow has toured for two decades, celebrating the Man in Black's music for audiences across the country.

The Lydney performance promises a journey through different periods of Cash's career, from his early country sound to the songs which introduced his music to later generations.

Tickets are available for the Lydney date, giving country fans the chance to see the show.
