Simon Phelps has been appointed as the new headteacher of Five Acres High School, with immediate effect.

Mr Phelps, replacing the school’s former head Ian Frost, has been a dedicated member of staff at Five Acres for a number of years, including as deputy headteacher and most recently acting headteacher.

Mike Cooper, chair of governors of Five Acres High School, said: “The board of trustees and local governing body moved swiftly to get a new Headteacher in post to lead Five Acres on its continuing journey of improvement, which has become even more significant in the exceptional and challenging circumstances we all find ourselves in due to Covid-19.

“I have every confidence that under Mr Phelps’ leadership the school will continue to improve and provide the best opportunities for all our students.”
