DENE Magna School has congratulated its sixth form students following fantastic results on Thursday, August 13.

The cohort achieved an overall pass rate of 97 per cent and two thirds of all grades achieved met or exceeded a C grade. 15 per cent of the grades achieved this year were an A or A* with 23 per cent of the students in the cohort achieving one or more A/A* or distinction grades.

Sports and Fine Art students have done particularly well this year: every one of the Sport and Physical Activity students achieved either a distinction or a distinction star, while all of the art students achieved a grade C or above, with 50 per cent at A/A*.

A large proportion of its students will be making their way to university in September, studying subjects including law, computer science, medicine, creative writing, and sports journalism.

A Dene Magna School spokesperson said: “We are so proud of all our students; they have been amazing to work with for the past two years. We all wish them the very best as they take their next steps, be that university, travelling or into the workplace - we know they all have a bright and promising future ahead!”

The school said it celebrates the achievements of all our students, not just A grade headliners. Many of our young people overcame significant challenges and achieved or exceeded their target grades, and they should be rightly proud of their new qualifications.
