A DOG was seriously hurt in Ruardean after being attacked by a wild boar.

The attack happened while the dog's owner and a friend were walking down a public path through woods near Ruardean Hill.

Jane Evenson, the owner of the injured dog, Bruce, said: "I didn't see it happen, it wasn't until we heard the yelping and the dogs came running out of the undergrowth that we realised what had happened.
