THE Forest of Dean is fast becoming the extreme sports capital of the country with its latest attraction promising speeds of up to 45mph on a 700m zip wire!

Darren Bryce, owner of the National Diving and Activity Centre in Tidenham, is installing the £200,000 wire to increase the scope of his highly successful 'cheapest and deepest' tourist attraction.

He has already injected a further £550,000 investment on 19 'wigwam' huts for visitors to stay in – which he claims offers the cheapest accommodation in the Dean and a new cafe. The centre boasts the deepest inland managed dive facility in the country.
