PROFESSIONAL debt advisers face losing their jobs despite the Forest being named as one of the worst areas in the country for families struggling to make ends meet.

According to credit reference agency Experian, one in four working people in the Dean are living in poverty.

But over the next nine months the Forest's Citizen's Advice Bureau could lose all or most of its part-time specialist money advisors.

Large grants from Severn Trent, Two Rivers and the Legal Services Commission are amongst those finishing or reducing between now and March, leaving a question mark over the future of expert staff.

The council is also reviewing the annual £90,000 grant to run the

CAB core service.
