I WONDER if you and your readers are aware of the extent of the changes to the NHS proposed by the Government.

They are effectively dismantling the NHS and handing it to the private sector .

All our taxes, which previously went to employees of the NHS, are to be given to the GPs who are private businesses and have never been part of the NHS.

In addition, the Dilke and Lydney Hospitals are no longer to be NHS hospitals but to belong to something called a Social Enterprise, which again is a private business which can be bought and sold like any other business.

District nurses who, contrary to popular belief, are not employed by GPs will also be privatised.

All this from political parties which said there would be no Top Down changes to the NHS.

The Government also said that spending on the NHS would be safeguarded, but they have now asked for cuts of £20 billion.

To me all this adds up to huge changes which put patients care and nurses pay and pensions at great risk.

The Government never mentioned any of this during the TV debates because they probably thought no one would vote for them if they did .

I wonder if your regular contributor Mark Harper would care to tell us why he was so disingenuous with voters in the Forest.
