A 58-year-old Yorkley man accused of a catalogue of offences against a Coleford woman has been cleared after trial by magistrates in Cheltenham.

However, David Greenway of Danby Road, Yorkley, did admit two other charges - one of assaulting a nurse in Gloucester on 25th May 2024, and the other of breaching a court non-molestation order requiring him to stay away from the woman's Coleford address.

He has been bailed for a pre-sentence report and will be sentenced for the two admitted offences when he returns to court on September 17th.

Greenway had denied using controlling and coercive behaviour towards the woman in Coleford between September and December 2023.

He also denied assaulting her on 8th April 2024, destroying her boots and designer handbag worth £900 on 18th December 2023 and stealing cash from her in April 2024.

He further denied taking a BMW car without consent in Coleford on 14th April 2024.

The magistrates found him not guilty of all those charges and dismissed them.

They made it a condition of his bail that he does not contact the woman directly or indirectly while awaiting sentence.
