A van driver has been fined for speeding - and not wearing his seat belt.

Alan Hawkins, 34, of Byfords Road in Huntley, appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court accused of speeding in his Transit van on the Lydney by-pass.

He was fined £40 with £90 costs and a £34 surcharge for exceeding 50mph and fined a further £40 for having no seat belt.

The magistrates imposed three penalty points on his driving licence and gave him until July 5 to pay.
