A 39-year-old Tibberton man accused of causing serious injury to another road user by driving carelessly in Cornwall last summer is to stand trial at Cheltenham Magistrates Court in the New Year.
Ian Hempshall, of Poplars Farm, Tibberton, is alleged to have been driving a BMW 330 without due care and attention at Griggs Hill, Lelant, nr Hayle, Cornwall, on 23rd August 2025.
The charge alleges that his driving caused serious injury to a man who is understood to have been riding a motorcycle at the time.
The case was initially heard at Cornwall Magistrates Court where an interim driving ban was imposed on Mr Hempshall. However, that ban has now been lifted by Cheltenham Magistrates pending trial on 10th February 2027.
