A 32-year-old Ruspidge man who caused £4,000 worth of damage to a house in Cinderford High Street has been ordered to pay only a fraction of that amount in compensation.

At Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court, Kane Hale of Hart Green, Ruspidge, pleaded guilty to doing criminal damage to a window and door at the property.

The charge stated that the damage had been valued at £4,000. A second charge against Hale of assaulting the owner of the property was withdrawn by the prosecution.

Hale was ordered to pay £500 compensation and £85 costs.

The court imposed no other penalty.
