A 36-year-old Coleford man caught with indecent images of children and extreme pornography involving animals has been sentenced to an 18 week suspended jail term.

At Cheltenham Magistrates Court, Matthew Berry of Nash Way, Coleford, pleaded guilty to possessing three Category B images of children and five Category C images. He also admitted possession of four extreme pornography images.

The offences were committed between 30th May 2023 and 17th July last year.

Berry was sentenced to concurrent jail terms totalling 18 weeks which were suspended for eighteen months.

He was ordered to register as a sex offender for seven years and to attend up to 25 days of rehabilitation activities as directed by his supervisor.

He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a surcharge of £114.
