A 58-year-old Cheltenham man accused of twice assaulting a woman in Littledean earlier this month is to stand trial in the New Year.

Christopher Orpin, of Pilgrove Way, Cheltenham, has pleaded not guilty to assaulting the woman causing her actual bodily harm on 9th September. He also denies assault by beating her between 2-9 September.

Orpin was conditionally bailed to await a four hour trial on 3rd February next year.

He is to be GPS tagged while on bail and must not contact the woman directly or indirectly nor enter either Gloucester or Littledean.

He must also live and sleep every night at his home address.
