THE DISTRICT Council planning committee have refused permission for a building to go up at Clearwell Farm in a long-running controversy over the turkey business.

However, the committee have allowed delegated permission for two buildings which have already gone up on the site.

But one committee member blasted the applicant, saying he showed a ‘cavalier’ and ‘foolhardy’ attitude towards erecting the two buildings without planning permission.

It was the third time that the application for the building had come before the planning committee. It had been given the go-ahead in October, only to be refused when returning again in February.
