VOLUNTEERS are being thanked for helping bring a splash of colour to Newent after planting a series of floral displays throughout the town centre.

Newent Town Council has praised the efforts of community volunteers who gave up their time to plant flowers in planters along the High Street, creating vibrant displays for residents and visitors to enjoy throughout the summer months.

The displays are now blooming across the town and have already helped brighten key areas, providing a welcoming sight for shoppers, businesses and those passing through Newent.

In a message of thanks, the council said the volunteers’ dedication, enthusiasm and hard work had transformed the planters into colourful features which showcase community pride and help make the town an even more attractive place to visit.

The council also highlighted the contribution of its grounds staff, who will continue caring for the displays during the growing season.

Staff are responsible for watering and maintaining the flowers to ensure they remain healthy and continue looking their best in the weeks and months ahead.

Council representatives said the success of the displays demonstrates the value of community spirit and teamwork, with volunteers and staff working together to enhance the appearance of the town.

The floral arrangements form part of ongoing efforts to keep Newent looking welcoming and attractive for both residents and visitors, particularly during the busier spring and summer period.

Newent Town Council is encouraging people to take a moment to appreciate the displays when they are in the town and recognise the work that has gone into creating them.

The colourful planters have become talking points and sources of pride locally.

The authority thanked everyone involved in the project and said their efforts have helped Newent bloom, while making a positive contribution to the local environment and the wider community.
