RESIDENTS are being invited to hunt for bargains and explore Newent when the popular Newent Driveways event returns later this month.
The annual community event, taking place on Saturday, June 20, sees households across the town turn their driveways into mini market stalls for a giant yard sale trail.
Visitors will be able to browse a wide range of items, including pre-loved goods, homemade bakes, handmade crafts and unique treasures, all sold by local residents. Organisers say the event offers a chance to pick up bargains while supporting a community-focused day out.
This year's Newent Driveways will once again form part of the wider #ExploreNewent Community Day, bringing together a variety of activities and attractions across the town.
Alongside the driveway sales, visitors can enjoy the Newent Town & Country Market, visit the Mend and Repair Café, and explore independent shops, creative businesses and activities in The Shambles creative quarter.
Organisers hope the combination of events will encourage people to spend the day discovering what Newent has to offer while supporting local residents, traders and community groups.
After the driveway trail closes at 4pm, the day will continue with a free community picnic at Newent Lake from 4pm until 6pm. Those wishing to attend can pre-order a free wrap in advance through the event booking page.
An interactive Google map showing all participating locations will be available online, while printed maps can also be collected on the day to help visitors navigate the route.
Newent Driveways runs from 10am until 4pm and is free to attend. Organisers are encouraging visitors to bring comfortable walking shoes, reusable shopping bags and a sense of curiosity as they explore the town.
More information, including the trail map, can be found at the Newent Driveways website. Updates are also available through the event's Facebook page and by following the #NewentDriveways hashtag.
