ON Saturday, delegates from national and local campaign groups – from the Lake District to Sherwood Forest – will attend a day of discussions at Speech House, at HOOF's invitation.

The object is to form a national network and reach consensus on aims to keep England's forests public.

On Sunday March 6, musicians who performed at the January 3 rally and contributed tracks to the HOOF CD will perform a celebratory showcase underground at Clearwell Caves. On March 20, for World Forests Day, people will celebrate our Forest with a cycle rally, plus a mass barbecue at Wenchford and other activities.

A bigger event, similar to the recent Voices In The Forest festivals may take place in the summer.

HOOF internet wizard John French is collecting memories, photos and more for an online exhibition at http://www.handsoffourforest.org">www.handsoffourforest.org, while Roger Drury is encouraging people to write HOOF Diaries as part of this year's Coleford Festival of Words.

The Dean Heritage Museum in Soudley is considering hosting an exhibition of campaign artifacts.
