CRUEL thieves have stolen the goalposts bought for English Bicknor's fledgling youth team.
The young Bicknor team has only just been formed, but is already training for the new season.
Club spokesman Dave Hemsley (pictured) said: "The junior goalposts cost us £220 and we only had them a fortnight.
"We left them out overnight just once and they were gone. It's a dirty trick. Whoever took them must have had a truck and it would have needed two of them.
"The boys are keen so we'll buy them some more."
English Bicknor held their annual awards evening on Saturday at the club.
Tom Phillips was the manager's player of the season and also collected the trophy for most goals (12). Ryan Hartley was players' player of the season.
Reserve team awards went to Shane Adams (manager's player of the year), Phil Symonds (players' player of the year) and Dave Morgan (top scorer with 34 goals).
Adam Selway collected the clubman of the year award, while a long service award was presented to Kerry Lewis.
Bicknor resume training on June 23 and will be staging a veterans' six-a-side on August 6.
