A BAKERY shop burglar was caught when he was spotted near the scene of his crime –with cake crumbs and sugar plastered around his mouth!
Sean Duffy, 45, had scoffed some of the sticky cakes at the Sugar and Spice Bakery in Coleford when he broke in.
He had also caused mayhem on the Mushet Industrial Park by smashing the windows of nine vans, Gloucester Crown Court heard.
At the time of the crime spree workers described Duffy as the "worst burglar ever" – because he also dropped a letter in the bakery which had his name and address on it.
Duffy, 45, of Brighton Road, Rhyl, admitted nine offences of vehicle interference, five of stealing from vehicles, one burglary and one unrelated theft.
He also admitted breaching a 10- month suspended sentence he received at Mold Crown Court on July 7 last year for burglary.
Recorder Stephen Hall jailed him for a total of 25 months.
