The 600 workers at Coleford’s Ribena factory have been told their jobs are safe in the wake of a blanket ban by Tesco on the company’s sugary blackcurrant drinks.
Earlier this week Tesco revealed it is to take sugar-rich Ribena products from its shelves from September 7 as part of a move to combat childhood obesity.
Ribena, which is made at the Lucozade Ribena Suntory factory, in Coleford, is one of a range of sugary children’s favourites facing the Tesco axe, including Capri-Sun.
But Hannah Norbury, Ribena Marketing Director said: The change in Tesco’s position will not impact the operations of our factory in Coleford.
