LYDNEY Ladies secured a deserved 2-0 home win over Newent in Saturday's Premier Division Two clash at Whitecross Leisure Centre on Saturday.
Lydney's midfield controlled the game, maintaining a high tempo and frequently turning over Newent's defence.
It wasn't long before their possession was rewarded with a goal from open play by Amy Biddle.
Lydney continued to pressurise the Newent defence with shots from Lauren Thompson, Chelsea Turley, Kate Adams and captain Emma Biddle. All of these were either wide or saved by the Newent keeper.
The second half saw Lydney build on their first-half display.
They exploited gaps in the Newent defence with Amy Biddle and player of the match Sara Sleeman working tirelessly to provide an outlet for the team.
