LYDNEY suffered flooding devastation last weekend despite the rugby club being able to get their game played on Saturday.

The town’s rugby, football, cricket and tennis clubs grounds all submerged and facing bills of thousands of pounds to get back on their feet.

Lydney RFC’s Regentsholme ground was underwater as was the clubhouse.

Their chairman Duncan Sleeman described the damage as ‘catastrophic’ for a club founded 132 years ago.
