Another man has been charged in connection with an incident in Coleford, Forest of Dean earlier this year, which brings the total number of defendants in the case to 11.

The charges relate to an incident on April 5 near the Clock Tower on Market Place at around 2.30pm.

Lee Rogers, aged 37 and of Tipton in the West Midlands has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and violent disorder.

He appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court last Wednesday (24 September) and was remanded in custody to attend Bristol Crown Court next month (October).

A man and a woman were injured in what is believed to have been a targeted attack which is understood to have involved weapons.

The man, aged in his 60s, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with serious injuries, which included a bleed on the brain and fractured jaw.

The woman, aged in her 60s, attended Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment for fractures to her ribs and wrist.

Nine other men had previously been charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit Section 18 wounding with intent and one count of violent disorder. They are:

  • Darren Rimmer, 52 and of Gloucester
  • Joshua Bell, 31 and of Gloucester
  • Kyle Matthews, 27 and of Gloucester
  • Luke Cole, 29 and of Gloucester
  • Mark Gibson, 55 and of Knutsford
  • Paul Price, 56 and of Newport
  • Robert Greenacre, 34 and of Wokingham

Another man, Jordan Peers, 30 and of Wrexham, had been charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit Section 18 wounding with intent.

Six men remain on remand while the other five were released by the court on bail with conditions. They are all due to appear at Bristol Crown Court later this month.
