A RESCUE van used by Gloucestershire charity Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home broke down last night (Monday, May 19) prompting an urgent public appeal.
The van, which is used for the transport of animals to nearby vets for care, broke down near Swindon late in the evening, during a critical assessment of a dog.
A Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home spokesperson said: “This van is our lifeline. It's how we transport animals to safety, take them to vets for crucial care, and visit surrounding areas for adventures.
“We are urgently appealing to our wonderful community for donations to cover the costs of recovery and any necessary repairs.
“Unexpected breakdowns like this put a huge strain on our limited resources, and every pound will make a real difference in getting our van back on the road so we can continue helping animals like the dog we were assessing.”
Residents can donate to the charity’s appeal by visiting its website or by calling 01453 890 014.
