Gorsley & Kilcot Parish Council say the District Council will create an 'accident hotspot' and will be going against its Core Strategy if it approves plans for a holiday caravan site in the village.

The proposed caravan site lies in the open countryside within the parish of Gorsley and Kilcot.

Amanda Reade, chairman of the Parish Council, said: "We are very surprised the application has got this far. We have consulted with a specialist traffic consultant believes there are sufficient issues to consider it for refusal.

"We have had a lot of concerns raised by large numbers of parisioners. If the District Council go ahead with this they will create an accident hotspot in the parish."

If the plan for the caravan site is approved, it will mean 21 touring holiday caravans would be parked on land between the Ross Road and Sterry's Road in Gorsley.
