NEWENT needs more green space to meet the urgent needs of its thriving sport clubs. That's the view of town councillor David Blick, who said: "We have a serious problem facing the town unless we act now.

"I think we need to push the planners to look seriously at all the options for more recreation grounds, particularly a club room and pitches for our sporting requirements."
