THE death of a 53-year-old woman in Littledean last week has been deemed 'not suspicious' by police.

A post-mortem for the woman, who died on Thursday January 5, was scheduled for the following day and the case has been handed to the coroner.

"It has been established that the death of a woman in Littledean on Thursday was not suspicious," a police spokesperson said.

"Officers are currently conducting enquiries on behalf of the coroner."

Police were investigating a ’serious incident’ at a property on Broad Street where the woman died after sustaining serious injuries on Thursday.

The emergency services were called to a property in Broad Street in the village just before 3pm as ambulance services treated the woman before calling the police.

She was sadly pronounced dead at 3.45pm.

A cordon was in place at the property while officers carried out enquiries. There were also officers in the area conducting local enquiries into the incident.
