A 76-year-old woman from Lydney has died after a car crash near Coleford on Friday morning.

Gloucestershire Police, Ambulance and Fire emergency services were called at 7.50am on March 4 to a serious road traffic collision at Mile End Road, Coleford at the junction of Woodgate Road and the B4208.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision, a Vauxhall Zafira driven by a 55 year old man from Coleford and a white Volkswagon Up driven by a 76-year-old woman from Lydney. Sadly the woman was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The man was very shocked by the incident but did not require medical treatment.

The woman’s next of kin have been informed.

Various roads have been closed including Mile End Road, Main Road, Edge End Road, Bakers Hill and Woodgate Road.
