MOTORISTS have been warned to be aware of the presence of sheep on local roads by the Forest’s Sheep Liaison Group.
The group, which is made up of members of Forest of Dean District Council, Gloucestershire County Council, Highways England, Commoners Association, Trading Standards and Forestry England, says although the maximum speed permitted on most Forest roads is 60 miles-per-hour, the top speed should not be a ‘target’ as it is often unsafe to drive that fast, due to the presence of sheep and other animals.
