Bridgwater Town 0
Cinderford Town 0
MISERLY Cinderford's defensive strengths were again evident as they shut out Bridgwater for their fourth clean sheet in five.
However, Town's problems up front resurfaced with another goal blank. In those same last five games, the Foresters have only managed two goals.
Cinderford certainly created enough chances to win this match, but they were unable to take them. They were also thwarted by an outstanding display from Bridgwater keeper Sam Hitchins.
Cinderford were without Warren Archer (foot injury), but club captain Dale Evans returned as a substitute.
Cinderford were easily the better side in the opening 45 minutes, passing the ball slickly and accurately. Nick McCootie squandered a great chance when one-on-one with the Bridgwater keeper.
The second half was more disjointed but Lewis Sommers had a header superbly saved by Hitchins, then saw a late goal chalked off by the referee's assistant for a marginal offside.
Town keeper Alex Harris did not have a great deal to do in the match, but he did make one top notch save from the lively Brad Middleton.
Cinderford Town: Alex Harris, Ashley Malcolm, Dan Harrison, Greg Lewis, Matt Smith, Dean Lee, Nick Hancock, Andy Lewis, Nick McCootie, Josh Egan, Mike Whittington. Subs used: Matt Barnes, Dale Evans, Lewis Sommers. Not used: Brad Andrews, Ben John.
