THERE was no room in England’s match day squad for Drybrook scrum-half Natasha Hunt in their opening Women’s Rugby World Cup pool match.
The Red Roses stormed to a 56-5 victory over Spain but Hunt was not part of the 23 players selected to play in the Pool B fixture that opened the tournament.
Kay Wilson scored a hat-trick in half an hour after Megan Jones scored the first try of the competition after 54 seconds to give England a 24-5 lead at half-time.
Wilson scored a fourth after the break and further tries from Emily Scarratt, Harriet Millar-Mills, Alex Matthews, Amy Cokayne, Lydia Thompson were complimented by two conversions via the boot of Katy McLean and another from Scarratt.
England play Italy on Sunday August 13 at 2.30pm with coverage live on ITV from 2pm.
