GLOUCESTER-HARTPURY have strengthened their front row ahead of the new Premiership Women's Rugby season with the signing of Australian international Bridie O'Gorman.
The 27-year-old tight-head prop will join the club after completing her commitments with the Wallaroos in the WXV Series, which finishes at the end of October.
O'Gorman arrives with considerable international experience, having earned 43 caps for Australia since making her debut in 2022.
She featured at both the delayed 2021 Women's Rugby World Cup and the 2025 tournament in England, playing in every Australian match at the latter competition.
The forward has spent her domestic career with NSW Waratahs but will now test herself in English rugby as Gloucester-Hartpury prepare for another campaign in the top flight.
Head of rugby Dan Murphy welcomed the arrival of a player he believes will bring additional strength and experience to the club's forward pack.
He described O'Gorman as a set-piece specialist and praised her rapid rise through the sport, having only taken up rugby at the age of 19.
Murphy said her progress from the Waratahs to the Australian national side demonstrated both her ability and dedication.
O'Gorman said the prospect of experiencing a new competition and playing environment had been central to her decision to move overseas.
She said: "Having played rugby in Australia throughout my career, the opportunity to experience a different competition, environment and style of rugby was something that sparked my interest."
The Australian added that Gloucester-Hartpury's reputation for competing at the highest level made the move an exciting opportunity.
Her arrival will provide another international option in the front row as the club builds towards the start of the domestic season.
Gloucester-Hartpury begin their 2026-27 Premiership Women's Rugby campaign away to Sale Sharks on Saturday, November 21, with O'Gorman expected to bolster their options throughout the upcoming campaign.
