CINDERFORD United crowned a Counties Two Gloucestershire-winning season with an incredible 104-0 victory at the Bell Sports and Rugby Park.

Opponents Cheltenham North played gallantly with a depleted side but were totally outplayed.

James Kear and Sean Gardner scored four tries apiece, with Alex Bosworth, George Evans, and Ethan Hopkins scoring two each.

Tom Reynolds and Ollie Fitzpatrick also went over, with Harry Tovey kicking 12 conversions.

Captain Dan Nicholls said: “It’s been a great season, the boys always put in a shift.

“At the start of this season we struggled but we’ve come on leaps and bounds, it’s been absolutely brilliant.

“I’ve said its about just enjoying rugby.

“There shouldn’t be any pressure you should just play because you enjoy it.

“This is a group that enjoys playing, win or lose we enjoy playing and that’s the main thing for me.

“We won the league above twice but weren’t promoted but now there has been a change in the rules.”

Cinderford club president Pete Bell was full of praised for the players and their coaches.

He said: “What you’ve done this season is amazing.

“(Former coach) Paul Morris and your coaching team should be so proud.

“We’ve got a new pitch, a new way of playing but what you’ve done is immeasurable.

“You put on a display and you deserve the plaudits.”

United finished the season with 100 points, nine ahead of second-placed St Mary’s Old Boys.

They earned 19 try bonus points and one losing bonus.

They won 20 of their 22 games, scoring 958 and conceding 444.
