DAVE Bennett has said he wants Lydney to play entertaining rugby next season after being made their club captain for the new season.

And he has echoed the calls from the club’s coaches that promotion from the Tribute South West One West league to the South West Premier has to be the main target for the campaign coming up.

Bennett is an experienced member of the squad, having already played 180 games for the Severnsiders and is on his way to becoming a member of the 200 Club this season.

With Lydney having a young side, Bennett’s experience and guidance from the second row will be invaluable while his experience as a teacher and coach is sure to help with game management and those crucial on field decisions.
