NEWNHAM'S Paul Rigby produced one of the most remarkable bowling spells ever seen in a senior Forest league cricket match – taking five wickets in five consecutive deliveries.

Rigby, who recently turned 50, has been playing for Newnham for 22 years. He's nicknamed Waspy - because he's always buzzing in the batsman's face!

He ended up with sensational figures of 6-4 from seven overs, including three maidens. Five of his victims were clean bowled and the other was lbw.

Rigby was playing for Newnham's second XI in their KW Bell Forest League Division Two home match with Huntley II.

Newnham captain Danny Keddle said: "None of us have ever heard or seen anything like this before.
