SIX second half goals consigned Lydney Town to defeat in their first ever GFA Challenge Trophy Final.
Town found themselves 2-0 down after 20 minutes as Bristol Manor Farm’s Ryan Radford and Aron Robbins netted.
The Bristol side, who are chasing promotion from the Western League Premier, proved too hot to handle going forward while Lydney were stubborn in the face of an increasing scoreline.
Declan Morley-Lyne scored before the break, but his strike was pegged back by a goal from defender John Locke for 3-1 at half-time.
Pete Macklin, who endures a frustrating night in front of goal for Lydney, pulled another one back for Town early in the second half.
But Pete Sheppard’s hat-trick and a brace from Dean Stamp, as well as another form Harley Purnell, killed off any hope.
Town were unlucky not to have a number of goals to their name in this affair, which despite the score was a thoroughly entertaining match.
