HARTPURY FC strengthened their promotion credentials with an impressive 4-1 victory over second-placed Swindon Supermarine at Gloucester City's KMM Energy Stadium on Saturday.

The Acorns produced a commanding display in difficult, windy conditions to secure consecutive Southern League Division One South victories and move into the play-off positions.

Supermarine arrived among the division's leading sides but struggled against Hartpury's relentless pressing and attacking movement.

The visitors were missing defenders Sam Turl, Rhys Tyler and Olly Case, leaving their reshuffled backline vulnerable to the hosts' early pressure.

Morgan Ewing and Noah Coates threatened before Nathan Jenkins opened the scoring after 16 minutes, spectacularly volleying into the top corner following a failed clearance.

Hartpury doubled their advantage ten minutes before half-time when Drew Robinson surged forward from left-back and finished confidently beyond goalkeeper Joel Halliday.

Billy Osborn nearly added another before the interval, but Jowan Partridge intervened after the Hartpury captain rounded Halliday.

The hosts continued dominating after the restart, with Cameron Walters producing an acrobatic finish from Louis Manning's corner in the 55th minute.

Tyger Hall briefly revived Supermarine's hopes five minutes later, turning sharply before driving past goalkeeper Seth Locke.

However, Hartpury quickly reasserted their authority, forcing Halliday into impressive saves from Ewing and Osborn.

Their fourth arrived after 79 minutes when substitute Rory Preston delivered towards the far post, allowing Osborn to finish emphatically into the roof of the net.

Osborn missed another opportunity during stoppage time, but Hartpury had already secured a thoroughly deserved victory.

The result extended the Acorns' unbeaten home run to six matches this season and provided another boost to their promotion ambitions.

Hartpury will now turn their attention to Saturday's home encounter with Shaftesbury at the 4ED Hartpury Stadium, hoping to build on their recent momentum and strengthen their position among the division's leading promotion contenders.
