CINDERFORD Colts bowed out of the National Under-19s Cup at the quarter-final stages, losing 24-0 to Bedford Blues at Dockham Road.

Blues, who have won the cup five times in the past six years, provided stiff opposition and their defence was particularly well organised.

Cinderford trailed 14-0 at half-time, having had a Chance Ridler try disallowed for a double movement in the act of scoring.

Cinderford remained in the hunt until 10 minutes from time but a penalty kick from halfway stretched Bedford's lead to 17-0.

With just a couple of minutes left on the clock, Bedford went over for a converted score.

Number seven Mitchell Bourne was Cinderford's man of the match but Chance Ridler also played well in the second-row, as did the midfield pairing of Liam Littleton and Aiden Price.
