A popular and established tennis coach was a special guest at the Fever-Tree Championships at The Queen’s Club last week.

Chris Davis, who has coached for 46 years, was recognised for his outstanding service and dedication to the sport by the Lawn Tennis Association.

Davis moved to the area 28 years ago and established a tennis hub in Coleford in 1991.

He had an excellent day in London and enjoyed seeing Wimbledon and Olympic champion Andy Murray return to the court after a long injury lay-off.

“I was deeply honoured to receive a very special invitation to The Queen’s Club,” said Davis, who is Head of Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools Tennis Academy.

Chris’ passion for the game is showing no signs of dwindling. He is keen to develop a new crop of players and coaches.
