DAVE Bird is quitting football to concentrate on work and family life. But he says he could return to the sport at a later date.

At the end of last season, the 29-year-old midfielder was appointed assistant manager of Cinderford Town following the arrival of new boss John Brough. Now, Gerry Oldham comes to The Causeway to serve as Brough's assistant.

Oldham was manager at Cheltenham Saracens for many years and also coached at the Aston Villa Academy.
