LYDNEY scrum-half Sam Arnott has been made club captain for the upcoming 2015/16 season.

Arnott, 24, is highly thought of at Regentsholme and takes the mantle ahead of another season in National Three South West.

Arnott also takes up an assistant coaching role alongside fly-half Chris Holder to compliment director of rugby Duncan Bell.

However, Arnott's future as club captain and coach is still in some doubt with charges for grievous bodily harm due to be heard in an upcoming court case.

Arnott is alleged to have hit another player during Lydney' s match against Weston-super-Mare in January 2014. He pleads not guilty and was handed a reprieve from an RFU ban near the end of the just-passed season.

Bell oversees the change in personnel having recently signed a new deal to stay at Regentsholme.

The former England and Bath prop has also recruited three new players, in ex-Cheltenham ten Brad Harris, University of Gloucestershire's front-row Max Folkard and prop Daniel Ford, brother of Severnside forward Nathan.

Paul Morris, who held an assistant coaching role, will no long be involved at the club, and Colin Henderson has left his post as team manager, and is replaced by chairman Gareth Williams.

Henderson will now take up a liaison role, while no new chairman has been announced as yet.
